GAME NUTRITION
Hunting represents a significant commercial activity, having been immensely reaffirmed recently; hence there is also a need for supplementary feeding and feeding the game living on a limited area. From the aspect of game nutrition, winter is the most critical period. In our country and in the neighbouring states the most important game is the following: deer, roe, chamois, mouflon, wild boar, rabbit, pheasant and partridge.
The needs of game can be considered as substantial needs, needs for growth, gestation, lactation, and for carrying eggs with birds. Within its production range the Subotica-based Veterinary Institute offers mixtures for breeding pheasants, wild ruminants (deer, mouflon) and wild boars, which provide an adequate amount of nutrients relevant the species and category of game.
